Facing unprecedented multi-front challenges, businesses today need resilience more than ever. Through interviews with experts and companies as well as nine case studies, we dive into Technological, ESG, and Climate Resilience, brought to life via immersive insights into innovative Californian companies.
The resilience imperative
In a world marked by unprecedented challenges, the aim with our Future of Resilience publication is to illustrate different approaches to building business resilience. The global ‘polycrisis’ – characterized by the confluence of the COVID-19 pandemic, escalating climate change, geopolitical uncertainties, and rapid technological changes, including, for example, the launch of ChatGPT – calls for businesses to focus on building resilience.
In a world where the future is uncertain and change comes fast, how can companies prepare, respond, and even emerge stronger? We have explored different business strategies a company can adopt to build resilience in the long run. Based on a series of dialogues, roundtable discussions, and interviews with key Danish and American stakeholders – from educational leaders to industry pioneers – we have chosen to focus on three sub-categories of Business Resilience, namely; Technological-, ESG-, and Climate Resilience.
Technological Resilience
An organization's capacity to overcome challenges when new disruptive technologies emerge, and its ability to swiftly adapt in such circumstances.
ESG Resilience
An organization's ability to navigate and succeed in the face on Environmental, Social, and Governance challenges by integrating sustainability into its core strategy and operations.
Climate Resilience
An organization's ability to anticipate, prepare for, and respond to hazardous events, trends, or disturbances related to climate.
Business Resilience describes an organization’s ability to respond and adapt quickly to disruptions or significant unplanned changes that could threaten its operations, people, assets, brand, or reputation.
