Denmark in Silicon Valley is looking for a new Advisor within AI & Tech to strengthen Denmark’s economic diplomacy and commercial and innovation cooperation with Silicon Valley and California. The position will play an important role in supporting Danish companies, startups, scale-ups and other stakeholders in navigating and benefiting from the rapid development of artificial intelligence. You will work at the intersection of technology, business and innovation, helping connect Danish capabilities and needs with leading companies, investors, experts and innovation environments in Silicon Valley.

We are looking for a proactive and results-oriented colleague who can translate opportunities in the rapidly evolving AI landscape into tangible value for Danish stakeholders.

About your role

Anchored in our North American Tech team, you will support our work on AI transformation, advisory, and project delivery in Silicon Valley. You will work on specific projects, and in close cooperation with the Danish innovation ecosystem, enterprises, and governmental stakeholders to help advance Danish interests and capabilities through engagement with counterparts in Silicon Valley.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Acting as boots-on-the-ground, and supporting Danish startups, scale-ups, and enterprises in navigating the AI landscape and identifying relevant partnerships and opportunities
• Monitoring and analysing developments in AI and its impact on startups and corporates, translating trends into actionable insights for Danish stakeholders
• Contributing to the planning and execution of AI- and tech-focused delegations and engagements
• Supporting sector-specific projects at the intersection of AI and Danish industrial strongholds
• Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the Silicon Valley AI ecosystem, including startups, investors, research institutions, and corporates
• Contributing to strategic briefings, reports, and communications materials on AI transformation
• Assisting in the day-to-day coordination of AI-related initiatives and partnerships between Denmark and California
• Contributing to our internal AI Sand Box project

Required Qualifications

• Relevant higher education degree, recently completed or a few years post-graduation
• A few years of experience in a consulting role or similar, preferably with exposure to AI or technology-related work
• Strong interest in AI and its effect on industries and society
• A proactive, independent, and results-oriented approach to work
• Networking and stakeholder management skills, with an interest to build trust across a broad range of partners
• Ability to thrive in a complex and dynamic international environment
• Excellent command of English and Danish or another Scandinavian language, both oral and written

Desired Qualifications

• Experience from public-private collaboration, innovation environments, startups, or consulting will be considered an advantage
• Knowledge of the Californian AI, startup, or venture ecosystem will be considered an asset

Employment conditions

• Your standard working hours will be 37 hours per week. Overtime work is to be expected during peaks and will be compensated for.
• You will be entitled to 5 weeks (25 working days) of paid vacation days per year.
• As part of your salary, you will be covered by a workplace pension scheme.
• You will be offered health coverage, which includes your spouse/partner as well as children under the age of 26, if applicable.
• Housing and relocation benefits are not provided as part of the employment and your spouse/partner, if applicable, is not eligible for a work permit.
