The Consulate General of Denmark in Silicon Valley is looking for a dedicated and dynamic advisor who is ready to take on an impactful role to build on the momentum and take the dairy sector cooperation between Denmark and North America to the next level.

Job description

Based in Silicon Valley, you will be part of the Food, Agriculture, and Fisheries Team in North America and will additionally be working with colleagues in Washington D.C., New York City, Chicago, Houston, and Toronto.

Your primary focus will be:

  • Developing and driving our dairy sector activities, including development and execution of value-adding export promotion activities for Danish companies
  • Helping facilitate dialogue and knowledge sharing between Californian dairy producers and relevant Danish stakeholders
  • Expand network and partnerships in the U.S. and in Denmark to support Danish interests

Required qualifications

  • A bachelor degree in business, agricultural economics, or similar
  • 5+ years of relevant experience (sector, consulting, government, business development)
  • A commercial mindset with an understanding of the link between business and politics
  • Strong interest in solutions to promote a green transition of the food and agriculture sector
  • Fluency in English and Danish
  • Well-versed in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Desired qualifications

  • Knowledge of and/or experience from the U.S. and/or Danish food and ag sector
  • Experience from an international environment

The candidate should possess an independent drive along with a positive, proactive attitude when engaging in new tasks. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills while possessing curiosity and creativity. As the work pace is subject to fluctuation, the candidate should be able to maintain a clear perspective and a flexible mindset in stressful situations.

About the Consulate and TC

You will be hired as a part of the Trade Department at the Consulate General of Denmark in Silicon Valley, and be included in the Consulate staff team consisting of 24 employees. You will refer to the team leader of the Food, Agriculture, and Fisheries Team in Washington DC.

The Trade Council in North America consists of more than 60 employees across missions in Washington DC, Boston, New York, Chicago, Houston, Toronto, Ottawa, and Silicon Valley.

Expected start
